A territory is a way to separate your customers
by geographic area or sales control area.
When you enter a new customer the customer will automatically
be assigned to a sales rep and territory by the zip code you enter for
the customer. You do not
have to use territories in BUSINESSWARE.
You can manually assign customers to a sales rep or decide not
to assign customers. If
you plan to use the BUSINESSWARE territory system proceed with the
following instructions.
Select Sales/Receivables
button. Then select the Territory
Setup button. This
opens the Setup Territory window. The
Setup Territory window
contains a left pane and a right pane.
The left pane displays a list of defined territories and their
corresponding sales representative.
When a territory is selected, the areas assigned to that
territory are listed on the right hand side of the screen.
The right pane displays a list of all areas in that territory. The areas will be displayed and sorted by state, zip code, or
cites. The How Are Your Territories Going To Be Divided-Up By? List box
determines whether the territories will be displayed by zip code,
state, or city.
Select the New
button in the Setup Territory
window. This will open
the Territory window. The Territory
window also has a left pane and a right pane.
You will notice a list of areas in the left pane.
Using the Zip Code, City, and State buttons
in the lower left of the Setup
Territory window the areas can be sorted and displayed by Zip Code, City, or State.
You can divide your territories by state, city or zip code.
Internally the territories are setup by zip code.
So the system knows what city or state belongs in a territory
by zip code. You
can also select not to have your territories automatically assigned
when entering a new contact.
1)
In the Setup Territory
window click on the New
button to add a new territory. This
will open the Territory

edits made, select the Cancel button

Note:

also be edited to the new territory.
