Customer types are not required. But they are a convenient way to segment your customers.
Segmenting customers can improve the searching capabilities.
It can also be a good way to track your customers.
To add a Customer Type just select the add button and double
click a customer type in the list to edit or delete the customer type.
1)
Select Sales/Receivables.
2)
Select the AR Defaults
button. The Accounts Receivable Defaults window appears.
3)
Select the Customer Type
tab in the Accounts
Receivable Defaults window.
4)
Select the Add
button. The Customer Type Setup window appears.
5)
Enter the Customer Type
Name.
6)
Select the OK button
to accept the changes and close the Customer Type Setup window.
To discard the Customer Type you were adding, select the Close
button (instead of the OK
button) to discard the changes and close the Customer
Type Setup window.

button. The Accounts Receivable Defaults window appears.

Select the Customer Type
tab in the Accounts
Receivable Defaults window.
4)
Double click the Customer
Type to edit. The Customer
Type Setup window appears with the name of the Customer Type in
the Customer Type Name
field.
5)
Make the desired edits to the Customer Type Name.
6)
Select the OK button
to accept the changes and close the Customer
Type Setup window. To
discard the edits made, select the Close
button (instead of the OK
button) to discard the edits and close the Customer
Type Setup window.

Select Sales/Receivables.

Select the AR Defaults
button. The Accounts Receivable Defaults window appears.
3)
Select the Customer Type
tab in the Accounts Receivable
Defaults window.
4)
Double click the Customer Type to delete.
The Customer Type Setup window
appears with the Customer Type Name.
5)
Select the Delete
button to delete the Customer Type in the Customer
Type Name field, and close the Ship
Via Setup window. To
abort deleting the selected Customer Type, select the Close
button (instead of the Delete button)
to discard the changes and close the Customer
Type Setup window.
