When you purchase the software, you receive 1 year of free unlimited technical support.  After the first year you have the option to purchase technical support on a yearly basis. You are not required to purchase technical support.  Our technical support plans run from $245.00 to 395.00 per year and includes free updates and unlimited toll free telephone support.  
Q: Will the appointment book allow me to schedule multiple appointments at the same time?
A: Yes, the appointment book allows overlapping appointments. In the appointment book, simply click on the time that you would like to add an appointment.  You can also setup interval time where within an appointment you can leave a gap for another appointment.  A typical appointment that may have an interval is a color or perm appointment in which the interval time is the processing time where the stylist can perform another service with another client.
Q: How many technicians can be viewed in the appointment book?
A: The Appointment book allows an unlimited number of technicians or stylists to be scheduled. To view anyone not appearing on the day view screen, you can scroll to the right. You can view an individual stylist’s weekly appointments as well.  Switching from the appointment book day view to the week view is as easy as the click of one button.
Q: Can each technicians receive different commissions for each service they perform?
A: Yes, each technician can receive different commission rates for each service they provide. Service providers can also have tiered commission levels based upon sales. The ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software also allows for commission, hourly and salary or a combination of. 
Q: Will the software allow us to sell packages?
A: Yes the ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software does allow you to sell packages to your clients. You can set up the specific packages your salon and spa offers. The package allows you to schedule various services with different stylists.
Q: Do all of my technicians have access to the Point of Sale and register transactions?
A: No, all of your technicians do not have access to the point of sale transactions unless you give them permission in ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software. The point of sale screen will ask for a password before allowing the user (or stylist) to ring up clients. If a technician or stylist does not have a password assigned, then he or she cannot access the point of sale.
Q: Are there security features within the software?
A: Yes there are security features in the ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software. You can assign permissions to each specific screen and report.
Q: Does ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software track inventory sales?
A: Yes, the ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software does keep track of inventory sales. Each item that is sold is deducted from the inventory database and you can check the quantity of a product in your inventory at any given time. Also, you can print out inventory reorder forms which list how much of each item is in stock, the minimum amount you would like to have and your cost per item. Once a shipment of inventory is received, you can add the quantity into the system by item and it will update your inventory information.  Advantage also tracks back bar inventory items and any adjustments made to inventory, who made them and when they where made.  An inventory value report based upon an as of date is available to run at any time.
Q: What are the hardware requirements for the basic ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software?
A: The minimum hardware requirements for the basic ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software system include: An PC computer, Intel Pentium processor or higher, 1 gig ram, hard drive, CD Rom drive, and Windows XP, Windows 2008, Windows Vista or Windows &.  At least one gig of ram is recommended.
Q: What kind of hardware can I purchase through Aknaf Software?
A: Although you are not required to purchase your hardware from us, we do offer high quality hardware at low prices. We offer Dell computers, cash drawers, receipt printers, touch screen monitors, and barcode scanners. Network systems and configurations are available as well.  Please consider call a representative at our company before you purchase hardware to make sure it is compatible with our software.
Q: Is it possible to have ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software running on more than 1 computer in my salon?
A: Yes, you can have ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software running on several computers in your salon and spa. The software is designed so that multiple users can use it on multiple workstations.  You do not need a dedicated server, you can use a peer to peer network.  Please consider Aknaf Software for helping you design a network system.
Q: Does this program calculate commissions or do I have to do it myself?
A: Yes, our program does calculate commissions. There is no need for you to take time out of your busy schedule to calculate your employees’ commissions. The commissions are actually calculated at the Point of Sale when the service is performed.  You can then generate commission and sales reports for any date range and employee range.
Q: Can this software keep track of gift certificates?
A: Yes, ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software keeps track of gift certificates and gift cards that are sold as well as redeemed. Gift certificate numbers and amounts are stored in the client’s record. If the client has forgotten their gift certificate, you can easily look up the gift certificate through the client information screen.  The program can print gift certificates automatically when they are sold.
Q: Will clients have the ability to transfer their gift certificates to a family member or a friend?
A: Yes, if a client decides that he or she does not want the gift certificate, you can transfer the gift certificate to someone else. The gift certificate transfer option is on the main menu bar under Clients, or you can access the feature in the client’s actual record. 
Q: What Accounting features are included in ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software?
A:  General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll Modules are include in the ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software Platinum version. ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software incorporates all the features you expect in a Windows accounting package, including departmental reporting, check writer, bank reconciliation, financials, budgets and both accrual and cash accounting reporting.  The Advantage accounting features are also much easier to use than many off the self accounting packages because they are designed for the salon and spa industry.  
Q: Can I print payroll checks with ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software?
A: Yes, with ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software Platinum version you can use a laser or dot matrix printer to print payroll checks. You can even use multiple bank accounts if necessary.  The system also generates summary and detail payroll reports.  Advantage Payroll module also prints W-2 and 1099.
Q: Can I pay bills, manage bank accounts and payables with ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software ?
A: Yes, you can pay your bills, manage bank accounts and expenses with ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software Platinum version.  The deluxe version includes a module called accounts payables.  This module gives you the capability to manage your vendors, checks and bills.  The Advantage Accounts Payable module includes tracking, expensing and paying credit card transactions.
