In order to BACK UP your data, go to the Start button on the bottom of the computer screen. Go to Programs, then find Advantage on the list of programs. You will see the option: SSM DATA – BACK UP, select this option. Select the Back Up Data button. You must select the drive that you want to back up the data, then for Sub Directory enter a name for the back up data file. Then Click the Back Up Now button.

If you are using 3 ½ floppy disks to back up, be sure that you have at least 4 to 5 disks but over the course of time you may need even more disks to save your growing data file. If you would like to back up to a Zip Disk (you will only need one), make sure you have a Zip drive in your computer, or purchase an external Zip drive which will plug into your one of computer’s USB ports or parallel port. You can also back up to a cd writer. Please consult the instructions of your cd writer to back up your data. Please note all of the data for ADVANTAGE Salon Software and Spa Software is stored in the SSM_Data.mde file that is by default in your Salon folder.
